Edi Rama is an Albanian politician who has served as Prime Minister of Albania since 2013 and as chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania since 2005. He was mayor of Tirana from 2000 to 2011 and earlier served as minister of culture, youth and sports. A painter and writer by training, he studied at the Academy of Arts in Tirana and has exhibited his artwork internationally.

Albania clears a former military island for Kushner's luxury resort

Prime Minister of Albania, whose government granted the project Strategic Investor status. Lawyers for environmental groups say a 2024 law enacted under his government removed protected status from the coastal ecosystem adjoining the site. He has publicly backed the development through sustained protests calling for his resignation.
