Department of Labor

The United States Department of Labor (DOL) is an executive department of the U.S. federal government responsible for administering and enforcing federal laws governing occupational safety and health, wage and hour standards, unemployment benefits, and reemployment services. It is headed by the Secretary of Labor, a Cabinet-level official who reports directly to the President. The department also plays a role in the collection and publication of economic statistics related to the labor market.
