Who enabled it

Deal or steal?

Marcus has built much of his recent career in cryptocurrency — he co-created Meta's now-shuttered Diem stablecoin project and currently leads bitcoin-payments startup Lightspark. Trump's SEC crypto enforcement actions have fallen 60% in his first year.

David Marcus of California, employed by Lightspark Group, INC, contributed $500,000 to Trump 47 Committee in a single contribution during the 2024 federal election cycle, in support of Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. Trump 47 Committee (FEC C00867937) was the principal joint fundraising committee of the cycle, distributing proceeds to the Trump 2024 campaign, the Republican National Committee, Save America (Trump's leadership PAC), and participating state Republican parties per its joint fundraising agreement.
